Session 4 - Face to face meeting with e-Champion Christine Dix 9 November 2011

Christine and I brainstormed overview of course as best we could as I have not been able to do morework on timetable.

With Christine's help set up new wiki space and Publisher page and copied info from exisiting wiki to save time.

Next step is to create tutorial using Jing. Software will be available soon for our upgrade then we will meet again and Christine will give me a demo via Blackboard.

Session 3 Face to Face One on One Meeting with eChampion Christine Dix 13 October

We met at Pines Learning for Christine to show me a range of resources to review what you can achieve using e-tools.

Confirmed that we intend to use our wikispace and that it is not a fully on line course but blended delivery.

Looked at Christine’s Step into Safety wiki created for her Diploma which included a range of e-tools.

Reviewed Julie’s Jing file

Identified the following e-tools as likely to be useful:

Wiki, CoolText, I-springFree, Ms Word forms, Jing, Hot potatoes, Blogger, Podcasts, Blackboard Ellaborate (Elluminate)

Next step:

Create new wiki space

Give it a name (can't change it after it is created)

Start with Publisher

Create timetable for course so can break units into three components (classroom, e-classroom and self paced)

Next meeting will be e-meeting, Wednesday 19 October.

Session 2 Blackboard meeting 5 October 2011

Went into the classroom in the morning and set up audio without hitch. Was relieved when ableto access the classroom ready to start at 3 pm.

Lynne stepped us through the Orientation presentation demonstrating and using Blackboard.

Need to set up a blog and update weekly/fortnightly.

Christine demo’d Application Share whereby I could see her screen in another program. I envisage this is what we will be doing when teaching program features.

Lynne is going to put some Help links for blogging on our wiki.

Need to join Ning which is a state wide e-learning resource wiki.

There’s state wide PD training coming up.

Can replay sessions via link on e-mentor wiki.

Enjoyed the session, it was interesting and showed Blackboard to be user friendly. Was envisaging how it will work with our blended delivery course 2012. Really looking forward to learning Jing and keen to get on with it. Finished at 4.15 pm.

Session 1 at Coonara Community House 21 September 2011

It was a rush to get there by 1 pm but I took a different route and arrived on time to join a number of community house colleagues who will be participants in this project.

Was pleased that I had an idea of what we had in mind and had the list of Cert III Bus Admin units and how we anticipate they will be delivered as it helped me complete the forms for the e-mentors.

Was pleased that Christine will be PL’s e-mentor as she knows how we tick and the qualification so well. I hope she will be able to point my nose at programs I haven’t heard of.

Need to get headset with microphone.

Thought the demo re Blackboard (which will be main communication tool for e-project) was great and will go to the wiki and print off orientation notes and go in and have a play before next meeting.

Lynne will survey using Doodle to find out suitable time for next meeting which will be in the holidays.

Great first session, all keen to go. Only reservation so far is that I hope I have enough time to maximise the opportunity. Finished at 4 pm.
